The Made in Sheffield mark is synonymous with quality, heritage and authenticity. Tomorrow the Grey Matter team will be celebrating amongst businesses that epitomise these traits at the Made in Sheffield Awards.
Grey Matter works closely with the Made in Sheffield brand and with many of the businesses that are license holders. As a Sheffield ‘born and bred’ business ourselves, we are passionate about our home and its reputation as a city of makers. That is why we are the only creative agency to become an official Supporter Company of Made in Sheffield.
Whilst Sheffield’s manufacturing heritage is grounded in its world-renowned reputation for cutlery, Sheffield is now taking centre stage for more than just its steel roots.
In a brand new category at this year’s awards, outstanding food and drinks manufacturers will be recognised to reflect the growing number of bakeries, breweries, distilleries and farms in and around the city.
And did you know that, in terms of specialist companies and new jobs, digital and new media industries in the Sheffield City Region are growing at a faster rate than anywhere else in the UK? It’s hardly surprising then that Sheffield is in the running for Channel 4’s relocation. Perhaps we’ll see more films and TV shows boasting the Made in Sheffield badge of honour…
Some say that our futures are shaped by our past. Tomorrow’s awards will celebrate the creativity, passion and entrepreneurial spirit that has forged Sheffield’s past successes and will continue to build the city’s future in new, innovative and interesting ways.
As sponsors, we will be proud to see our name alongside the Made in Sheffield mark tomorrow evening, not to mention the great businesses that are shortlisted. Good luck to all and here’s to much more being Made in Sheffield!
